Jurgen Klopp's eyes turned red. He couldn't hold back his emotions at Liverpool fans' serenades.

Liverpool beat Norwich City 5-2 in the fourth round of the 2023-24 English FA Cup at Anfield in Liverpool, England, at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Liverpool will then face the winner of Southampton vs. Watford in the round of 16.

Liverpool dominated the game. Liverpool took the lead with Curtis Jones' first goal in the 16th minute. Ben Gibson scored the equalizer in the 22nd minute, but Darwin Núñez shook the net and started to take the lead again in the 6th minute.

He also scored a goal in the second half. Diogo Jota widened the gap by scoring in the eighth minute of the second half, and Virgil van Dijk scored with a header from a corner kick attack in the 18th minute of the second half. Norwich started the chase after Borja Sainz when he scored a fantastic mid-range goal in the 24th minute of the second half. However, Liverpool won 5-2 when Ryan Gravenberg scored the net in the extra time of the second half.

The match was the first since Klopp announced he would leave the team. Liverpool officially announced on its official channel on the 26th that "Coach Klopp decided to step down as Liverpool manager after the end of the season after informing the club owner of his desire to leave his position in the summer."

In an interview with his official website, Klopp said, "I know it's a shock to a lot of people the first time I hear it. But I can definitely explain it. I love everything about this club, I love everything about Liverpool, I love everything about our supporters, I love the team, I love the staff. But the reason I made this decision is because I'm convinced myself it's right."

He continued, "Energy is showing its bottom. Obviously nothing wrong with me right now. I've known for a long time that I'll have to announce it one day, but now I'm fine. I know I can't go back to work and continue."

He also said, "It was really important to be able to help get the team back on track. That's all I have in mind. It was a really good team with tremendous potential, age group, caricature, etc. After that I started thinking about myself, and that's the result."

Liverpool fans thanked Klopp for the news. Ahead of their showdown with Norwich, fans sang a farewell serenade to Klopp, singing "You'll Never Walk Alone," one of the Liverpool's biggest cheering songs. Many fans took out signs with various messages, such as "Thank you Klopp," "Good luck," and hung up hangers. 토토사이트

Klopp shed tears as fans cheered for him. "I really liked the atmosphere and fans who showed everything to me. I'm emotional but I need to pull myself together. I got all the messages," he said after the game.

However, Klopp strongly said that there is still a season left. "People can do what they want, but we need atmosphere in the stadium. To do that, fans need not think about the coach. We have to forget about it for a while and run towards the opponent like crazy. The next opportunity is against Chelsea," he said.
