The 2nd draft of the KBO held on November 22. Lotte Giants called for Hanwha Eagles infielder Oh Sun-jin (34) in the 2nd round. What happened was that I didn't expect. Lotte, which sent free agent Ahn Chi-hong (33) to Hanwha, took veteran Oh Sun-jin to reinforce the infield. In fact, Ahn Chi-hong and Oh Sun-jin changed their uniforms and wore them. On November 20, two days before the 2nd draft was held, Hanwha announced a contract with Ahn Chi-hong.

Ahn Chi-hong, a graduate of Seoul High School, and Oh Sun-jin, a graduate of Seongnam High School, have known each other since they were in high school. If Ahn Chi-hong's contract was delayed a few days below, the two could have joined the Hanwha Eagles together.

Oh Sun-jin, now in his 17th year as a pro. He left Hanwha again. He was traded to the Samsung Lions and returned to the FA a year ago, but transferred again. "If I had known this, I wouldn't have cried (when I moved to Samsung)," he said with a big smile in an interview right after signing the FA contract.

Shortly after returning to Hanwha, he married in Daejeon and set up a newlywed house.

Jang Min-jae (33) and Lee Tae-yang (33) are the only veterans in their 30s who started their career with the Hanwha Eagles. Oh Sun-jin wore the Eagles uniform as he was nominated in the second and fourth rounds in 2008, Jang Min-jae in the second and third rounds in 2009, and Lee Tae-yang in the fifth round in 2010.

Lee, who had been traded to SSG Landers, became an FA late last year and returned to Hanwha. Jang Min-jae is the only player who started playing for Hanwha.

Jang Min-jae is currently an FA. He played for 15 years for Hanwha and became an FA. He feels light as he is in a C-grade position without a compensation player in case of transfer. However, it does not seem that Jang is considering a transfer.

"We delivered the terms of the contract. However, other teams wanted to find out as well," a Hanwha official said.

Hanwha signed a three-year, 930 million won FA contract with Jang at the end of last year. The amount includes 150 million won in incentives. It seems that Jang offered a similar contract terms to Jang.

He was sluggish this season ahead of the FA. He joined the secondary league twice since he started as a starting pitcher. He stayed in the secondary league for more than two months. In the second half of the year, he moved to the primary league and pitched as an intermediate pitcher. In the last three games in October, he allowed one hit in two ⅔ and no runs.

He had three wins, eight losses and one hold in 25 games, and an ERA of 4.83.69 innings. The number of innings pitched in his team dropped to about half last year. He clearly needed a role for his team, but the weight was less than that of last year.

Last season, he played in 32 games (25 starts) and threw 126 ⅔s. He garnered seven wins and eight losses with an ERA of 3.55. When foreign pitchers left due to injury and their starting rotation collapsed, they appeared like superheroes and held on. He recorded the most wins and the most innings in his single season.

It seems difficult to get the best contract with this year's performance. Even if there is a nature of compensation for contribution, the FA contract has no choice but to evaluate the value of players based on their performance in the future. Of course, if there is a team interested in recruiting Jang Min-jae, the story will be different.

"We plan to hold a meeting with Cho Man-gam. We will not rush it," a Hanwha official said.
