The province attracted tremendous attention because the federal government outlawed betting on single events in the summer. Now, on April 4, 2022, AGCO and its subsidiary, approved operators of iGaming Ontario, can deliver products online to gamblers within local borders in a regulated and responsible manner.

Supplier now expects April 4th after Play'n GO has official approval from Ontario's Alcohol and Gaming Commission. Once the market is officially launched, the company will be able to showcase innovative gambling products to locals, with the most prolific titles being Book of Dead, React, Rise of Olympus, and Tom of Madness.

Magnus Olsson, the company's chief commercial officer, shared his excitement about the news. He explained that these regulated markets are important not only for suppliers but also for the gaming industry as a whole. This means providing players with a secure gaming experience and allowing operators to focus on providing a complete, sustainable experience.

He also noted that the province is now an important jurisdiction, as about 40% of the nation's population has access to vendor-branded products. In addition, he added that Ontario is only the first of many North American target markets, as it said it would soon introduce its brand in one regulated market.

Sisel Weitzhandler, chief risk and compliance officer at the game vendor, shared that the company's strategy continues to engage in all regulated areas. On behalf of the supplier, she also thanked AGCO for its license and pointed out that the opening of the province's iGaming market is an exciting and decisive milestone for the company traveling in North America.

The Comedy
But with Play & Go licensed to operate in Ontario's regulated market, the company will face fierce competition from other gambling brands. For example, most recently, Bet365, a leading online sports book, announced that it would enter its jurisdiction because it was licensed by AGCO. In this way, the company that was part of the gray market will now be subject to regulation.

In addition, Illinois-based Rush Street Interactive also announced last week that it has an Ontario iGaming license.
