U.S.-based Telsey Advisory Group said U.S. regional games showed signs of improvement in May, although gross gaming revenue (GGR) was still declining.

"GGR decreased by 0.4% in 22 reporting states, preventing a series of steep declines earlier this year," the institute said in a report Wednesday.

"With improvements in May, we feel more comfortable with our outlook for Q2 earnings," it added.

Telsey said he sees "little evidence" of a long-term recovery in U.S. regional gaming trends.

"We believe some of the recent positive moves in the stock may be attributed to better-than-expected trends on a quarterly basis. Although we are not seeing anything that signals a broader or more sustainable recovery of the universe and we are sitting on the sidelines here," the report said.

Credit rating agency Moody's cuts U.S. gaming industry outlook to 'negative' from 'stable'

"The negative outlook reflects the recent decline in monthly gaming revenue, which is comparable in most jurisdictions over the past year and a half, and fixed earnings outside Nevada," Moody's said in a report published this week.

Telsey sees an increase in ongoing casino closures in Atlantic City. "With taking longer than expected, we are finally seeing supplies drawn out of the saturated/underperforming Atlantic City market," it said. 카지노사이트

Caesars Entertainment announced it would close its Showboat casino in late August. Rebel AC, which filed for bankruptcy protection for the second time on June 19, said it may close until the end of the summer if it does not find a buyer.

"Caesars is rumored to be interested in purchasing Revel through one of the better capitalized companies, which gives operators a much newer facility at the northern end of the boardwalk compared to Showboat," Telsey said. "We see all of this as the right size for the Atlantic City market."
