After four strikeouts in Game 7 of the NLCS, the decisive RBI stepping stone...Series MVP

In professional baseball, there are players who are especially active in autumn. They are so-called "strong-minded" players who perform better than their skills in important short-term matches.

Ketel Marte (30), a utility player for the Arizona Diamondbacks of the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB), is a representative example.

Marte had an ordinary performance of 0.260, five homers and 18 RBIs in the 2017 regular season, but he swung a bat with a batting average of 0.412, hitting seven at-bats in all four postseason games he stepped on for the first time that year.

He is also showing off his strong power in this fall's stage, which he stepped on for the first time in six years.

Starting with the first game of the National League wild card (1 hit in 5 at-bats) against the Milwaukee Brewers on the 4th, he had a hit streak in every game until Game 6 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) against the Philadelphia Phillies on the 24th.

Marte also produced a hit in Game 7 of the NLCS at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the 25th.

It wasn't an easy start.

Marte, who started as the first batter and second baseman, struck out in all four previous at-bats.

In the top of the fifth inning when he was trailing 1-2, he struck out with a swing and missed strikeout in the opportunity with one out and a runner on second base.

But Marte blew up the hit. In the top of the seventh inning with a 3-2 lead, he hit a double over the height of the right fielder against the changed pitcher Jose Alvarado with one out and one on the first base.

Arizona then won 4-2 with a sacrifice hit by Corbin Carroll, marking its first World Series appearance in 22 years.

Marte, who produced hits in all NLCS games, was named the NLCS Most Valuable Player (MVP) after a decisive RBI in the match.

Marte challenges new history. Now, if you produce a hit in the next PS game, you will have a MLB PS consecutive game hit tie.

According to MLB, the record is 17 games set by three players, Hank Bower, Manny Ramirez, and Derek Jeter.

Marte will play in the first game of the World Series against the Texas Rangers at 9:03 a.m. on the 28th.

Marte had a batting average of 0.276 in this year's regular season, but he is swinging a batting average of 0.358 in 12 postseason games, including two home runs.

After the match, Marte said in an interview with local media, "I want to pour out everything I have."
