Crazy Time: the Flashy Live Casino Game Made for the Spotlight

People often say there’s no reason to “reinvent the wheel”. But what if those people are wrong?

With Crazy Time, Evolution Gaming took its already popular Dream Catcher money wheel concept and reenvisioned the possibilities. By adding a Top Slot mechanic and bonus features with player participation, the established live casino game provider was able to increase the winning potential with tons of multipliers hiding where you’d least expect them.

At LODIBET, we like to celebrate our most popular games, our crowd-pleasers, our fan favourites. Whether a golden oldie or a brand newie, as long as it’s a game that our players love as much as we do, we’ll include it in this Popular Games series. Crazy Time is the 11th game to be highlighted, and the first live casino offering. You can learn about other heavy hitters in the series like Book of Dead and Dazzle Me here on the blog.

How to Play Crazy Time

The TCS John Huxley designed bespoke wheel has no motor powering it, but rather relies entirely on the professional touch of the live game host, who spins it in real-time.

At the bottom of the screen, you’ll find the options for where you can place your chips. On the left, you’ve got the numbers 1,2, 5, & 10. If the wheel lands on one of the numbers where you’ve placed your chips, you’ll win the amount of those chips (your stake) x the number. So, if you place a 2€ on 5 and the wheel lands on a 5, you win 10€.

Top Slot Feature

But that’s not all. Crazy Time combines the best aspects of a live wheel casino game with a little bit of slot action. During the base game, there’s a Top Slot featuring two reels that spin when the wheel does.

The first reel features the different bet spots and the second a random multiplier. If the wheel lands on the same bet spot as the Top Slot, say on 5 like in the example above, then the standard win gets a multiplier boost, potentially turning that 10€ into something to write home about.

Crazy Time Bonus features

There are four bonus features in Crazy Time, triggered when the wheel lands on their segment. You can place your chips on these as well, and try your luck when the wheel spins.

Coin Flip

We all know how a coin flip works, but here things are a little crazier. Instead of heads and tails, the giant coin has a blue and a red side. A random multiplier is assigned to both colours before the nail biting flip.

Cash Hunt

If the wheel lands on the Cash Hunt segment, each player’s screen turns into a shooting gallery with random multipliers as targets. These are covered with symbols and shuffled around before the player has a chance to “shoot” at the one they think is hiding the juiciest multiplier.

Pachinko

Inspired by the classic Japanese arcade game, Crazy Time features a giant Pachinko wall that the host has to climb up behind via a set of stairs. He or she then drops a lighted puck down along the wall’s pegs, which awards different multipliers depending on which pocket it lands in. If it lands on the “Double” pocket, all the multipliers double and the host climbs back up those stairs (quite the workout!) to drop the puck again.

Crazy Time

Lastly, we have the most coveted of all the bonus features, the eponymous Crazy Time . If the wheel lands on Crazy Time, the host takes the players through a red door to a colourful virtual world where things get a little crazy. Each player selects a colour for the virtual wheel to land on powered by a big red button that the host presses. There’s also double and triple multipliers on the wheel that trigger another spin and sums up to a maximum of 20,000x your stake.
