There are different types of Minecraft servers available online including Survivor, Player VS Player (PVP), Hunger games, Prison, Creative, and many more. These servers provide players a great platform to enjoy multiplayer game-play with other like-minded players. Players around the world can easily join these servers. The owners of these servers also organize interesting competitions with vibrant objectives for the participants.

How does it work?

Many servers host their own competitions in which players who join the server can participate in the competition. In the competitions, special mini-games and challenges are created by hosts of servers in which special rules are set by hosts and moderators. These rules are set to stop cheaters and highly competitive players from stealing the competition. If someone breaks any rule of the competition, the moderator can remove the participant off the server to keep the integrity of the competition.

Players can earn cash prizes and gifts from these Minecraft server competitions. The host doesn’t generate money from running a Minecraft server, and they have to pay monthly operating fees for their servers. To generate income from the server, they often have online stores for the games, who can purchase different items from the store including shirts, skins, and tools. Players can also purchase different ranks in the server which can be useful for big competitive tournaments. There re organisations that create minecraft products and services such as the Team Visionary Minecraft Texture packs as well as The Official Minecraft shop.

There are many Minecraft servers which organize different types of Minecraft competitions and tournaments. Minecraft: The Club of the Future Challenge by WRU

The Welsh Rugby Unionin collaboration with Hwb, is organizing a Minecraft competition in which participants will have to build their own version of the Rugby club including stadium and surroundings. WRU named the competition as “The club of the future challenge”. Competitors can use Minecraft Education Edition to design and build the Club of the future. This special competition is designed to enhance learning and teamwork skills of the students across the country.

How does it work?

This unique Minecraft competition is open for students from all educational institutes across Wales. Wales Rugby Union WRU has collaborated well with Hwb and Minecraft Education Edition to provide students an exciting opportunity to learn and enhance their gaming skills in Minecraft. Participants will also have a chance to get a virtual tour of the famous Welsh Rugby club. All the participants will have to use their imagination and skills to build an innovative Rugby club of the future by using Minecraft Education Edition.

The competition will be open for students from the ages of 5 to 16. There are three main levels related to age of the participants. First level is called Foundation phase, the second level is called Key Stage 2, and the third level is Key Stages 3/4. The competition will also be carried in three stages, the first stage will be called Local round in which students from individual schools will be able to participate. The submission deadline for the local round is 5th of February 2021.

The second stage of the competition will be the Regional Semifinal, and the third and final round will be the National final on 2nd March 2021. All the participants will have to submit their creation on 5 February. The winners of the regional round will be announced by 22 February. All the finalists will have to showcase their creation in the National Level. It is a great competition for students in which they can boost their gaming and learning skills.

Participating in the Minecraft competition can be a daunting task for new players, but each server has experienced players who can help new players to improve their gaming skills. Each server usually has a mix of new and experienced players which makes their competitions more interesting and more competitive. Minecraft competitions and tournaments also increase the popularity of the game in the market, and these online competitions are one of the reasons why the Minecraft has survived in the gaming industry for more than 11 years. These tournaments also help in establishing friendly relations between the players.
