Description of Bitumen 60/70

Bitumen penetration grade 60/70 is a semi-rigid penetrating bitumen used in paving grade bitumen suitable for road construction and fixing conjointly for the production of asphalt pavements with the following technical specifications. This bitumen is usually used to produce hot mix asphalt for base and surface courses. Bitumen 60/70 is the most commonly used type of bitumen and the raw material for all alternative bitumen products.

Bitumen Penetration Grade 60/70 is mainly used in the production of hot mix asphalt for the base and wearing courses. Penetration-grade bitumen provided by BITUMEN CO is petroleum-grade bitumen produced by fractionation/vacuum distillation of crude oil. The bitumen offered by BITUMEN CO is made from vacuum residuum feedstock (short residue).

Properties of Bitumen Penetration 60/70

Bitumen grades 60/70 are commonly used in the production of asphalt mixtures, bitumen emulsions, cutback bitumens, and modified bitumens. Bitumen 60/70 has the highest boiling, heaviest, and most polar fraction obtained from vacuum distillation of crude oil. Bitumen 60/70 consists of asphalt and molten. The weighty insoluble asphaltene molecules cause bitumen to a 60/70 body and softening point, while maltenes are oily and cause the asphalt pliable.

Asphaltene molecules are soluble in aromatic solvents such as toluene, but not in heptane. Maltenes are molecules that are soluble in heptane and have low aromaticity. Penetration-grade bitumen offered by BITUMEN CO is pure petroleum-grade bitumen made from vacuum soil by passing hot air through it. The bitumen supplied by us is made from crude oil residue after cracking and moving out hydrocarbons.

Bitumen Penetration 60 70 has a penetration of 60-70 decimms and a softening point of 49-56 °C. Penetration grade bitumen 60/70 thermoplastic is similar to synthetic resin materials and softens when heated and also hardens when cooled. This bitumen grade 60/70 has a very high viscosity compared to other grades.

Uses of Bitumen 60/70

This is the most common type of bitumen. the unique temperature-viscosity relationship that we explained above, is used in the global bitumen market for adhesives, joint sealants, waterproofing agents, vapor barriers, construction and maintenance of roads, airfields, all area and pool liners, soundproofing and acoustics, pipe coatings, and painting. , and thousands of other applications.
This type of bitumen is usually used for the production of hot mix asphalt for courses and bases.

Guaranty and safety of bitumen penetration 60/70

BITUMEN CO is an arrangement by international inspectors to check the quality and quantity of Bitumen Penetration 60/70 during ship loading and production by QC for each batch to control the test report before shipment, guaranteeing the quality of bitumen penetration 60/70. BITUMEN CO guarantees quality that meets ASTM.

Bitumen 60/70 Specifications

The quality of bitumen 60/70 is conditional on the physical features and specifications got by applying the bitumen test.

In addition to penetration testing, there are several tests used to identify bitumen 60/70:

viscosity test
softening point test
ductility test
loss on heating test
flash point test

Some of these points are more necessary for bitumen 60/70 suppliers and their customers. These are softening point and flash point values.

The Difference between Bitumen 60/70 and 80/100

The primary difference between 60/70 and 80/100 is penetration. To choose between 60/70 and bitumen 80/100, we have to look at the fact that bitumen penetration 80/100 is softer than bitumen 60/70. Because of this bitumen 80/100 is used at low temperatures.

How is Bitumen 60/70 Produced?

Bitumen 60/70 is usually made from crude oil. Like other penetration grades, this grade is produced by a refinery-blowing process. Medium porosity and permeability make this type of bitumen neither too soft nor too hard.

In contrast to other bitumen qualities, bitumen 60/70 does not require further processing. In industry, this kind of bitumen is also called straight run. This means that this type of bitumen is made directly from the vacuum distillation process. This bitumen does not require modification, so the price of bitumen is 60/70 lower than other types of bitumen.
