- Foundations 2 was created to prepare students for Algebra 1.
- You will learn to think and persevere your way through a problem.
- You will learn to reason abstractly and quantitatively.
- In addition to doing problems you will explain your thinking and critique other students' thinking.
- You will use the appropriate tool(s) from our collection to work your way through a problem.
- You will become more precise in your mathematics.
- You will learn to look for patterns and structures.

- We will not tell you how to solve the problem but we will help you figure out a path to solve the problem.

- To bring your Interactive notebook every day.
- You need to bring a pencil, and if you need a pencil ask.
- To be in class every day. Math is a subject where each day will build upon the previous day. Which means the more days you miss, the harder it is to catch up.
- To be ready to start working when you enter class.

Method of Evaluation
A student's grade will be based upon their achievement on summative assessments that are written around the learning targets below.
A = 100% - 90%
B = 89.9% - 80%
C = 79.9% - 70%
D = 69.9% - 60%
F = 59.9% or below
Categories and Weighting
- Assessments/Quizzes 100%
- The daily work and quizzes are for practice, gaining knowledge, and learning from mistakes.
