My name is Mr. Carlos Chan! I will be your instructor for the 2021-2022 year. Please look at the syllabus below to view it.

Description

You are here to be prepared for First Penance and receive the Sacrament of Penance prior to receiving First Communion. Both sacraments would generally be received in the same grade. First Penance would normally be received a couple of months or more before First Communion.

Rules

For Hybrid Students/In-Person Students

• Be awake
• Have fun
• Stay on task
• Raise your hand if you have a question or need to take a bathroom/general break.
• Answer questions when I ask you.
• No Bullying
• Stay in your seat
• Wait until you leave
• Consquences will lead to parent notice.

For Zoom Remote Students

- Turn your camera on at all times.

- Unmute your microphone when necessary.

- Look at your screen computer

- Send a message or chat in the Chatbox.

- Need a break? Ask me!

- Do not search anything else unless I have told you.

- Will you be absent, please send a message!

- Be on time to Zoom in!

Date of ceremony

There is no specific date of the sacrament. A possible chance of the sacrament celebration may occur in Early-Mid May.

All students taking confirmation may have a possible chance to have their reconciliation on Holy Wednesday or another date. A possible chance to have their Eucharist may be on Easter Vigil (a Saturday).

Other things to remind you!

- Grades does not mean that you pass or fail this class. This is not a school. This will be good for me, because I can see what are struggling with and which ones are like a "Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy" for you.

- Parents can ask me for a observation of you. If your parents want me to see your performance. Please let me know by email and your parents must make a Canvas K12 Observer Account. I will provide your parents an access code for them to see your performance.

- Assignment can be weighted. Please stay tuned!

- I will also post recording of in-person sessions and virtual sessions. There would be some additional sessions that I would want to come. Not mandatory, just to get your stress out.

- If I will not be here on a in-person day, there will be a substitute teacher with you and I will leave the lesson and assignment plans in the tables. If I will not be here on a virtual remote day, there will be a separate video in the Course Video Library, and I will post an announcement on that day.
