This course is designed to train NYS PK-12 educators on Student Data Privacy Law. The modules will explore FERPA, COPPA, and NYS Ed-Las 2d. The last module contains scenarios that learners will analyze for violations of Student Data Privacy Law, and examine what must be done in these common situations.''

• Learners will be able to identify the laws that protect Student Data.
• Learners will be able to identify ways they can protect Student Data Privacy as an educator.
• Learners will be able to evaluate their use of internet-based resources in their classroom regarding student data privacy.
• Learners will be able to discern legal and illegal situations regarding Student Data Privacy.
