Taking a Course For Category A1

A course in category A1 is a vital step in getting your licence. It is not the only step. You also have to pass a test in the practical area.

Theoretical lessons

Sigma Aerospace College offers courses that include all the theoretical training requirements to advance to licencing as a Pilot. This includes the competencies of the MEA Aeroskills Training Package and Part 66 modular assessments. These courses also meet the licensing criteria for the European Union. However the practical training isn't included in these courses. Students can complete the training in a practical manner using RPL.

The theoretical lessons are a key component of the course for category A1. You must attend 12 theory lessons each lasting 90 minutes in order to be able to take the theory test. However, the number of these classes could be less based on your learning progress.

The theoretical lessons are geared towards composing texts that take into consideration the audience, purpose and style. You will also learn to discern between opinions, facts and judgments as well as how to think inductively and deductively. You will also learn to critically assess ideas, critique and promote them.

Practical lessons

The course for A1 category prepares students for a motorcycle practical test. This course is designed for students who want to ride a moped, or a small motorbike with a capacity up to 125cc. The lessons in the practical portion include the study of theory and basic riding skills. The course lasts approximately four hours. Students who want to pass the test must have completed at minimum nine hours of instruction under the supervision of an instructor.

The practical lessons in the category A1 course are broken down into a number of sections. The first section is a theoretical lesson on the basic rules of driving. The second section is a road course where students will learn the techniques that will be tested in the Mod 1 test. The final lesson will be a test that lasts approximately 15 minutes. During the test students will be asked to perform various manoeuvres on Federal or country roads. The student will also be required to complete a number of special rides, such as driving at dawn, during rain, or at night.

Students must also pass a written exam in addition to the practical and theory lessons. The exam is comprised of 50 multiple-choice questions. The exam must be passed with scores of at least 41 points. The test isn't too difficult, but a lot of students are anxious about passing it. After completing the practical training students can then take the Mod 1 test and be issued an authorization to ride a motorbike in the category A1. Theory test

You must pass the test in order to get an A1 license before you can begin your training in the practical. The theory test comprises 40 questions, of which 10 concern road safety. The test is 30 minutes long, and you can only make five mistakes.

You can prepare by taking practice tests and using an instruction manual. Online courses and programmes are available to help you gain the necessary knowledge. These study materials do not contain the same type of questions as the theory test but they cover the same topics. If you suffer from hearing or vision impairment, you may have an interpreter assist you during the theory test. To prove your disability, you must present a signed certificate from an expert. You must also present an official statement from a health professional who identifies the health conditions that qualify you for an extended period of time to take the multiple-choice portion of the exam theory.

Practical test

The practical test is the last step in obtaining your category A1 licence. It includes a safety test as well as an on-road skills test. You'll need your own motorcycle for the test, however the majority of applicants rent a bike from a training school.
