Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've always wanted to get a robot vacuum, now is the time to get one. CNET's top-rated models will be on sale during Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its most notable advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. This uses AI to recognize objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to send you a picture of an object that it encounters, so that you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, picking up dirt and spills with ease without leaving any trace that was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep in areas you don’t want. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off using your voice.
The design is also better than the competition. It features an elegant, top piece that appears like an toy, not an obnoxious and loud robot. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying which is great to speed up cleaning.
In our tests the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able to collect small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a bit of grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. And
vacuum robot did all this without getting caught in our pet's shedding hair.
The j7+, though not as intelligent as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it cannot clean the stairs, it's an option for those who need both mopping and a vacuum. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however we've found it be less reliable than other apps that work with robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and often it's difficult to know whether the update actually functioning until you've seen it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the best choice is probably hybrid. This type of robot typically includes a built-in water tank, meaning they can both vacuum and mop your house at the same time. They also come with a variety of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to wash and dry mopping pads.
vacuum robot at full retail but often are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it lacks some of the features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save a few hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeable gentle around obstacles such as table legs and walls, which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in getting rid of dust bunnies which is a problem where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is also top-quality, with a few misses along walls and in corners.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled with a few buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map or re-label rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ it includes a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once it's installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively simple. It also features an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when you're setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't necessary for the majority of people, however it can help you to keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design is among the top in the market however, it's costly.
It's a small base station that looks beautiful and is easily hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, chores and functions that other robots would leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require you to perform this.
And its vacuuming is impressive, too. It's the few robovacs I've tested that do an excellent job of picking up debris on bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs. This means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning area for carpets that are soft.
Although it doesn't have the same amount of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many in-app shortcuts like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for a comprehensive robot vacuum and mop that's worth the higher price tag.
If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are many other options on the market. Many eufy models cost substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example, is cheaper and offers an identical experience on the app with more features like the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors and low and high-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac g30
Eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of creating robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on carpets and hard floors, as well as mopping capabilities at an affordable price. It's easy to setup, just snap one of the side brushes on, turn it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to place the dock near an electrical outlet and ample space to allow it to move however.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be precise, which means it can be placed under sofas and other furniture with low clearance. The design is more modest than other models, sporting sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.
The most important aspect that makes the G30 above the rest is the method it cleans. It makes use of an integrated map to make a picture of the immovable objects in its path. It keeps track of the items it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. If it requires a recharge, it returns to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it began.
The eufy G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is, on the other hand is less expensive and a lot easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and it struggles less with bulky materials such as cereal.
