If you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the best option is probably a hybrid. These robots come with a water tank, so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. They also have a number of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. They're costly at retail, but usually lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock makes some of our most loved robotic vacuums and the Q5+ does not perform to the standards. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it might not have some of the more luxurious features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) but it's an excellent option for those who are willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.


The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles such as wall legs and table legs and walls, which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a place where many robot vacuums that are less expensive do not excel in. The Q5+'s navigation system is excellent, with few misses on walls and corners.

Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. With the app you can begin and stop cleanings or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones and alter your home map, or change the labels of rooms.

If you choose the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once it's in place, emptying the bin is relatively simple. It also comes with an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when you're setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't required for most people however it can help you to keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly smart in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and features are some of the most advanced available - but it's also pricey.

Its base station looks good and hides it when not in use, and its size is quite compact. The station's most appealing factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It can store dirty and clean water and also electrolyze and warm the water. The majority of other robots require you to do this.

Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive, too. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tried that does very well at picking up debris on plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a clean zone for carpets that are soft.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want a robot vacuum that does it all.

However, if you're looking to save some money or simply don't care about the limitations of this robotic, there are plenty of alternatives available, including a lot of eufy models priced substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides an identical experience on the app with more features like stair climbing, a full-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors and low and high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

eufy is an Anker company that has a long history of creating robot vacuums that offer the perfect balance of performance, features, and price. It's easy to set it up, simply snap on one of the side brush, turn it on and plug in your charging dock. It is sleek with a black finish with three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.

The way in which the G30 cleans is what separates it from its rivals. It uses a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects it encounters, remembering what it's already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and comes with a set of boundary strips to restrict it from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't need to be empty as often, and it has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
