Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills and stains) in one session without the need to change devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its relatively low cost, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can opt for the robot to do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will tell you precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that indicates when maintenance is needed, such as emptying debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and easily understood however we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. In contrast to the model of last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that enables it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.

The Roborock model, just like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.

It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with its innovative features, top suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best options available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry debris. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to get under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for apartments or condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice touch that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.

In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and understand and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features which make it a good option for busy families. budget robot vacuum docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it overflows, thus reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with many additional features that set it apart. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There's a plethora of settings on offer, including the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine. It also comes with a number of functions that are not available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
