Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills and stains) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
auto vacuum will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively affordable price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean and complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.
You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent as the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what the robot has done, where it is moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
The docking station has an LCD display that indicates the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and washing the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time and the mop is able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to view every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. This year's model has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that enables it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically empties and the bin fills up automatically.
The only negative I found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these smart features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mowing capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry mess. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the use of pads. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture such as table and chair legs. The robot can also reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that allows the X40 to avoid damaging floors by excessive back-and forth movements.
Contrary to other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive The X40 has many smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features that make it an excellent option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you before it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available however, it comes with numerous extra features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature on its mop, utilizes two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and other small dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There's a wealth of settings on offer which include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine. It also has several features that aren't available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, sporting a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
