iRobot Roomba J7+
The iRobot Roomba J7+ is an upgrade over the company's previous model and incorporates new technology to make it more efficient in preventing pet waste. It uses smart mapping and navigation to create maps of rooms and floors and is able to navigate around obstacles such as charging cords, furniture and shoes. It also detects dirt, and prioritise areas for cleaning that are dirty. This is a significant improvement over earlier models that often ignore dirtiest spots or only clean them for a brief time.
The robot vacuum comes with a self-emptying base station that can deposit debris from the dustbin into its own 2.4L dirt disposal bag. iRobot claims that the bag can store debris for up to 60 days, so you'll only need to empty it and then replace it every three months. The base station also comes with a spare bag that can be used to replace the bag in a snap.
The Roomba is simple to set-up and use. It is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, and can be controlled via the iRobot Genius App. You can use the app to choose when to start and stop the cleaning, and how long it will take to complete a particular task, and create a schedule.
During our tests in our lab, the iRobot Roomba J7+ was capable of cleaning areas rug and hardwood floors without any problems in the foyer, kitchen and family room. It was quiet and listened to us as it did its job. The decibel meter recorded just 64 decibels during the process. It took 90 minutes to clean a single room, and the battery needed to be recharged afterward for a total of an hour and 58 minute. The Combo j7 allows you to expand your iRobot ecosystem by pairing it with the iRobot Mop m6. One can run while the other moves about the room.
Dyson 360 Viz Nav
The Dyson 360 Viz Nav is the ideal robot vacuum cleaner for those who live in a multi-floor house. The model can create maps for multiple floors and save them to the app. It's then easy to switch between rooms without having to repeat the setup procedure. The robot is controlled via voice commands, such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Dyson has taken a different approach to obstacle detection that is different from other robots, employing a combination of sensors and cameras. A panoramic camera mounted on the top of the robot together with 26 sensors externally, help to create a map of the space as it moves. This assists to avoid obstacles and furniture.
In our tests during our tests, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav was able to reach right all the way to the edges and baseboards, and could also be easily navigated through furniture pieces with very tight corners. The robot's suction is strong and can take in every dust particle, hair strand, and dried-out piece of Playdoh we threw its way. The vacuum also pulled the bin out easily and quickly, cutting down cleanup time by half.
However, the Dyson 360 Viz Nav didn't perform better than other robots in our tests of obstacle avoidance. It was unable to avoid the drying rack that was temporarily in place, which it kept trying to get under. It eventually got stuck and stopped the cleaning process. It also had difficulty navigating some of the larger pieces of furniture such as a chair or coffee table. The Dyson 360 Vis Nav is also unable to climb stairs, which will be an issue for many people living in multi-story homes.

Beko RCV 5
The Beko RCV 5 is a relative newcomer to the robotic vacuum and mopping scene and is already making some waves with its sleek design and a reasonable price tag. The Beko RCV 5 comes with a few tricks on its sleeves that set it apart from its competitors, such as self-emptying capabilities and object recognition. It's easy to set up and use using a simple application that allows you to customize a variety of options.
Robot Vacuum Mops in this model uses sensors and mapping technology to navigate your home and does a fantastic job of getting around obstacles. You can also alter the cleaning route using the app, making it easier to clean certain areas more frequently than others. The app is a bit difficult to use at first, but once you get grasp of it you'll be able plan your cleaning schedule and monitor the power of your robot with ease.
Despite its impressive list of features, the RCV 5 is not without its flaws. First of all, it has a relatively small water tank that holds up to 240 ml of water at one time. While this is enough to perform the basic wipe clean, it's not ideal for removing the most stubborn stains. In addition, the wiping plate is rather simplistic and doesn't have a vibration or rotation function.
The battery life of a robot at this price is not the length one would expect. In actual fact, the RCV 5 only lasts for about a third of a cleaning cycle before needing a recharge. This isn't necessarily a deal-breaker however it is something you should keep in mind when looking for the latest robotic vacuum cleaner.
Karcher RCV 5
Karcher is a German manufacturer best known for pressure washers, has entered the robot vacuum market by introducing the RCV 5, a model that vacuums and mop. The RCV 5 has a range of amazing features including a superior obstacle detection using a dual-laser system, and mapping that is be monitored in real-time via the smart app.
It can also detect carpeted areas and automatically start the wet mopping function. There's also a spot cleaning feature that cleans a specific area of approximately 3 feet. It can also be programmed to repeat every week. The RCV 5 is a reliable robot cleaner with a suction capacity of 2500 pascals. It is able to clean both hard and soft floors and can reach into corners and under low furniture.
Like a lot of modern robots, the RCV 5 has a smartphone-powered application known as Karcher Home Robots. This app can be used to begin cleaning processes and create and manage maps of the home. It is also possible to set up virtual walls and zones in which the RCV 5 isn't able to drive, and various other controls.
The RCV 5 has a downside in that its dust container is just a litre and will need to be emptied regularly. This is unlike other models which have integrated disposal technology into their docking station. It's also a touch heavier than other devices which makes it less portable and requiring a bit more space to place in its charging station. The RCV 5 was highly rated by the testers for its user-friendliness and app control. It performed well in our tests, but some testers struggled to get its voice technology working properly.
