Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual will have you running in no time. You'll have a the complete dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For example, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only issue is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will show you precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks are required, such as emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood, though we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. It's not like the model from last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its course automatically and clean around the objects without stumbling.

It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and has only three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only issue I have found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required) but it's a challenge to take off the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power and cutting-edge mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.

Another notable feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, which lets it get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it an ideal option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that allows the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing mopping and vacuuming at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to skip areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is simple and easy to use and the X40's clever features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. robot vacuum cleaner reviews can detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It does have several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the growth of odours and mould in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are many options, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app or buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are many features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles instead of relying on a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing but it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can also extend to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
