The GP Unique
As far as hot hatchbacks are concerned it's hard to find one more aggressive than the GP Unique. It's got massive intakes, arch extensions and an wing with two parts at the rear and the type of features that are usually reserved for the most extravagant French unicorns.
Thankfully, it doesn't only appear sloppy. It also feels fast. The engine is smooth, powerful, and its 332lb-ft of torque arrives with little fuss at speeds below 1,750rpm. It's also well-matched with the smooth-shifting, six-speed automatic transmission. Mini is keen on lap times, so it's a shame that the GP Unique does not have an automatic transmission.
There are some flaws. For instance the GP Unique's passive damping is firm but uninvolving. When you're driving straight and smooth B road, you can easily push the chassis's dynamic limits, but it's difficult to remain fluid with your inputs. The front end can become somewhat snatchy, and the car struggles to maintain its position when it's under pressure from irregular British bumps.
When you dial into the GP Unique, its handling is superb. Its abrasive front end and body control are redolent of the JCW race car we tested last year. On
green power scooters , and when you're in determined mood, it's an absolute pleasure to drive.
The car's chassis is also distinct from the regular MT-09 due to the fact it has much more torsional rigidity and bigger axles. The new GP has 24.7 degrees of rake and 108mm of trail, which feels much more on the nose than the R6's but it also provides amazing stability in corners.
Another great feature of GP is the PO Generator module. This module lets you look at your current inventory, the min/max levels you've set for each item and any open POs that your suppliers have (i.e. more inventory is coming) and generates suggested purchase orders you can send to your suppliers.
The GP 500
The GP 500 is Airoh’s lightest GP Helmet to date. It helps reduce neck strain, fatigue and increase safety by reducing pressure on the shoulders. The shell is aerodynamic and features a chin-curtain spoiler that improves aerodynamics and reduces wind buffeting. Its EQRS quick release system is similar to one used on the majority of track-focused motorbike helmets, enabling emergency services to take off the helmet without upsetting the wearer's neck.
Like most modern helmets the GP500 is Snell and SHARP certified, with an SHARP three star rating. While this isn't the highest score, it's a good rating considering it comes with front-to-back and side impact protection.
I was extremely impressed by the picture quality. The GP500 can project an image as high as 4K resolution and managed to do it with impressive clarity. According to BenQ's specifications, it also had a very low input lag in both Game Mode and Fast Mode.
It was extremely accurate in terms of color, with a DeltaE of just 2.3 which is a great value. It also displayed excellent grayscale performance with crisp, very distinct shades. The GP500 also showed subtle rainbow colors while watching the Adam Project. These were very easy to spot but they did not annoy viewers and did not impact the viewing experience.
The sound quality is also impressive. The GP500 has an independent DSP chip with treVolo Psychoacoustic Tuning which produces 3D audio effects. It has an internal quad-speaker layout, which is located in every corner of the cabinet. This is designed to create a sound field that is awe-inspiring for every person, regardless of their position in the room.
There are several options for connectivity, such as HDMI inputs 1 2, 3 and 4 and an optical Toslink SPDIF to send native Dolby-Atmos bitstreams to a sound bar external. The GP500 has a pair of Type-A USB 2.0 ports to stream content, and it also comes with a 12-volt trigger to allow an electric screen.

The GP 900
Sceptics will point out that the GP is merely a naked XSR900 dressed in a Wayne Rainey frock, but the truth is that Yamaha's engineers have put their heads together to create a touching and powerful tribute to its legendary sporty heritage. The GP's new Deltabox frame and swingarm are both 55mm longer and feel more compact and secure in corners due to a modified the geometry of the chassis. Meanwhile, a full-spec 6-axis IMU provides a range of electronic rider aids for the platform, and KYB suspension is uprated with a bigger front fork and a larger wheelbase.
The GP's asymmetrically-shaped cowl is a clever trick. A pair of air vents are located in the cowl in order to reduce the pressure inside and disperse the heat generated by the motor. This gives a more streamlined appearance and also helps reduce the bike's centre of gravity. The GP's color TFT dashboard that displays messages and calls and offers the option of Garmin StreetCross Navigation and turn-by–turn directions (free the first year), is also an excellent improvement.
The GP comes with three pre-set riding mode options, plus a customizable setting that can be set manually by the rider. A new suite of smartphone-connected tech is also included and the GP receiving a YConnect app to integrate smartphones and media controls as along with cruise control as well as a new USB Type C socket for charging devices.
There's no doubt that the GP 900 is an excellent sports heritage-inspired machine and is an ideal commuter or Sunday blaster. The 117bhp CP3 engine is very user-friendly and offers a broad range of power that is accessible at low revs. Even at highway speeds, the GP's midrange power can easily recalculate your time/speed/distance calculation and utterly eviscerate Google Maps estimated time of arrival. The GP's suspension is just right - it's certainly not as wrist-achingly stiff as an R6 or as lightweight and agile as a TT500. But it's plenty of fun and a blast to ride.
