How do you obtain the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft for free! (Mojang News post)

This seems like a preemptive posting. There's no redeem button on the Mojang account pages as of right now. It will be available upon release, I believe.

I get to the redeem button on Microsoft's billing and account page, but it says there's an error. Is there a time limit for redemption for this redemption?

Windows 10 is being rolled out "today"/"tomorrow" depending where you are. The button should be available at 12:01 in the morning of Wednesday, Sweden time.

Also not seeing a Redeem button. I can't wait until tomorrow!

If you have an addon that allows you to force https to open, you must do it in , for example as the link is http only.

Instructions:

Download the software.

Run it and follow the steps. It will format your USB drive or disk in order to allow you to install.

Open your drive you installed it on and run the installer.

I have tried the beta and it has worked perfectly.

It was just delivered to me. It's incredible to see how well-designed the game is. My computer's fans don’t bother to start and the CPU runs almost completely idle all the time.

Are there any gameplay differences?

Yes, it will run great on mobile so you can expect it to be equally good on PC.

Just received it. Singleplayer LOL 22% CPU and 200mb #NEXTGEN anyways, there is a noticeable mouse delay looking around, but overall it looks great. We wish we could edit more settings, for example Mip-Mapping or AA. Textures become mushy over time and the water glare may be a bit odd. Apart from that, fantastic port guys:) Now I can play with my xbox friends .

It's an unfinished port at this time. It runs on C++ so it is extremely smooth. It requires some work to be compatible with the PC gamers. It appears to be an app for mobile devices at the moment.

I'm sorry if this seems to be a silly question. But how did you access Windows 10? Did some people get Windows 10 earlier?
