Chromebooks Now Come With Minecraft Education Edition

Microsoft has released the education version of Minecraft, its blocky game Minecraft to Chromebooks just enough so that students can return to school.



The Minecraft: Education Edition for Chromebook will be available on Monday. Thinkofdeath It includes all the same features as the Windows and iPad versions, including multiplayer across platforms according to the company. The version geared towards education of the game is meant to assist educators in teaching everything from science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to art, language, and history. According to Microsoft, the program has been licensed by thousands of people in more than 115 countries.



Microsoft announced that the game is now available on Chromebooks and that the latest update includes new STEM lessons and an "special Minecraft world" created with the American Beekeeping Federation's Kids and Bees Program.



Minecraft Education Edition for Chromebook requires the use of a Microsoft account to sign in -- the game is licensed by schools through Microsoft 365 for Education -however, the company has said it's working on letting users log in with an account on Google account as well.
