Bracelets are coveted on the WSOP circuit, but the Player of the Year title is something. This year, we watched a tight POY match, and Daniel Negreanu took first place with a knockdown of Robert Campbell for second place.

Negreanu finished sixth in the €25,000 Mixed Games Championship at the World Series of Poker in Rosbadov, Czech Republic. First place is always a great achievement, but the professional only had to put him in this position to put him on top of the Player of the Year leaderboard.

Negreanu has six WSOP bracelets under his name so far, and has cashed in more than 130 WSOP events. The last time he won the WSOP Player of the Year award was in 2013, when he won first place in the Asia-Pacific Poker World Series in the $10,000 unlimited main event and the WSOPE in the €25,600 unlimited high roller event. He also won the Player of the Year award in 2004.

Last year, Negreanu failed to make the top 100 POY leaderboard. In 2017, he approached No. 1 by scoring 717 points and placing 11th on the list.

still a fierce competition

He has now defeated Robert Campbell, who was the first-place finisher to reach WSOPE in Rosebadov. Shaun Deeb took over for a few days, but Campbell recovered his spot by making it to the last table in the 25,500-euro Platinum High Roller No-Limit Hold'em event.

Now, the score between the top three on the WSOP leaderboard is only 261. There's only one point left this year, so it can really be a game for anyone.

Winners of the main event are usually awarded over 1,000 points, which means that even those ranked 15th or higher can claim the top spot if they are currently playing for Los Badov.   슬롯머신사이트
