Deadwood Game Handle Reaches $140 Million In September

The handle is down 4.64% year-over-year.

The U.S.-South Dakota Gaming Commission reported that Deadwood's wages reached $140 million in September, down 4.64% from the same period last year.

Players bet $131.5 million on slot machines and $7.6 million on table games. Slot machine handles decreased 5.2 percent, while table game handles increased 1.4 percent. Sports betting earned $979,693, up 37.7 percent year-on-year. 

The NFL attracted the most sports bets with $425,937.96. NCAA Football came in second with $324,804.06, followed by MLB with $155,641.77.

Mike Rodman, executive director of the Deadwood Gaming Association, said, "We saw a 2.63% year-over-year increase due to lower sales in September. Year-over-year growth in sports betting is 25.25%. Deadwood sportsbook operators fell just short of their sports betting target of $1 million."
