Poker (pronounced "peer") is a card game, also called "Texas Holdem" and involves two (or more) players bidding on and flipping bets. The game is played using 52 cards, called a poker deck. The basic rules of poker are the same as other card games. A hand with the highest score wins while the weakest hand is awarded. The bets in poker is placed with chips. Texas Holdem has "house" rules like straight sets and open loops. There are certain Texas Holdem games that have additional rules called "no limit" as well as "tournament Rules" that can change the rules.

A "pot" is the sum of all bets that are placed by a player. Poker cards show the odds of the pot and the names of all players are printed. They may be printed in high or low, based the game in which they're playing. A number of things can affect the pot odds, including the type of game, the number of players, the starting hand and betting patterns as well as the final table.

There are two forms of poker, namely Caribbean poker and Texas Hold'em. In Caribbean poker, one player begins with three cards face up at the center of the table. This is known as the flop. The final form of poker is known as Texas Hold'em royal flush. In a royal flush, the highest hand always takes the prize. In a normal poker game, the highest player is dealt the first five cards, and the other player receives the remaining cards face down. Pre-flop is the term used to describe the beginning of the game that decides both the odds and the quantity. All of these different types of poker play in different methods, however each is founded on standard betting rules.
