My name is D. Eric Taylor. I am a high school math teacher with 20 years of experience in traditional, public schools. Over those two decades, I taught pretty much everything from a class of 38 non-English-speaking students who had to pass a Math 1 exam by the end of their first year in the US to a class of 10 academically gifted seniors taking college-level AP Statistics.

In the fall of 2022, I landed my dream job when North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics opened a second campus in my hometown of Morganton. Working at NCSSM, I have encountered both students and staff who all strive to be their best every single day, and their determination pushes me to keep reaching higher.

While completing my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology, I discovered a love not only for integrating technology into my own classroom, but also for helping other teachers bring their classrooms into the 21st century. Aside from showing my closest colleagues how to enrich their students' lives with technology, I truly enjoy sharing what I have learned on a larger platform, such as presenting at the annual NCTIES conference.
