Instructions
A young man has an accident while diving at the rock quarry.
Paramedics radio ahead to the ER where you work:
incoming trauma, ETA 3 minutes:
“22 year old male… blood pressure 100/70, heart rate 75 bpm, normal respirations….. Unsure if he lost consciousness, but patient is conscious and alert now….
Patient was in hyper-flexed-tucked position when he hit the rock, lacerating the right side of his head, neck and upper back….
Immobilized, stabilized and loaded into transport upon arrival…”
Patient Complaints:
•Severe pain upon impact
•Loss of sensation and movement in his right arm and leg
•Severe headache, dizziness & nausea
