Your institution may have certain design requirements that you will want to be aware of as you learn Canvas. 

You will want to know:

  • Does your school or institution have a template they want you to use? If so, you will want to know how to import content into your course before designing your own material. 
  • The lefthand navigation menu can be customized. There are 17 possible links provided by Canvas and even more customizable links. Does your institution require certain links be hidden or displayed?
  • Which features (discussions, assignments, quizzes) does your institution expect you to use right away? 
  • Are there best practices that your district expects with Canvas instruction?
