Welcome to Introduction to ePortfolios!

For the next five weeks, you will participate in an online course that introduces you to the world of ePortfolios. Some of you may already be aware of what an ePortfolio is, but I will assume many of you have never come across ePortfolios. It is important to gain an understanding of what an ePortfolio is, how it works, and what its purpose is. During this course, you will become familiar with the WordPress platform, learn expectations for posts, and will be guided through the submission of the first project—the professional Learning assignment. You will also collaborate with peers and post a reflection that relates to the project you submitted.

What is the goal of this course? Through the use of ePortfolios, you will utilize technology to reflect on your work. During this process, you will gain an understanding of your own strengths as a learner and will want to continue to learn.

What will I know by the end of this course? After completing the five-week course, you will begin to use ePortfolios with more self-guidance. You will use your personal ePortfolio to add artifacts from each professional learning experience and will collaborate with your colleagues to improve upon your skills as educators. You will also understand the value of reflection and how it impacts the learning process.
